This item is a good idea. Worked like a charm first time we tried it. No training necessary. Got this to assist elderly parents with getting out of sofa/chairs and I have to say it does the trick. Ans I don't have to worry about grabbing, pinching, or scratching fragile skin! This is a great product for older people, and those who have had knee or hip surgery. It makes it a lot easier to help them get up from sitting down so they can stand!

It's solid plastic so it doesn't stretch. I use this with my 98 year old client getting her out of bed. She can grab on and pull herself up and forward and then scoot herself, swing her legs over side to sit up position all while holding on, then she lets go to get ready to stand using walker. I use less of my strength and she uses more of hers, with no strain on my back. Haven't used it for chair but I'm sure it would work great.

This is truly a surprisingly handy device! Allows my wife (who I out weigh by 60 lbs) to safely assist me in standing up from low pisitions. In other words, it does exactly what was promised! This is a great product and a “must have” for anyone who has difficulty getting up from a seated position with bad knees!

This device was an excellent suggestion from a physiotherapist. My husband can lift me from a sitting position on the ground, and I can lift him with equal ease with surprisingly little effort. It's light enough to toss in a tote bag. I keep it handy on a nearby doorknob.

It is so great to have. It is so easy for me to help my husband get up. I don't have to bend over to give him an assist in getting up, which means that I can leverage my own weight instead of having to pull both of us up from a low position. My posture is better and I can lean back a bit, which is a huge advantage.

Great product, worked perfect for my 90 year old Dad who needs help when getting up. He has fallen a few times this year, and it's always difficult to help him up. We started out testing it a few times just to make sure we knew how to use it if necessary. The handle is very strong and we can both feel like we have a better connection and grip when using it.

This has been great in helping me get my husband up from the bed and sofa we attached it to his Walker so it’s always available. The use of the handle enormously reduces the tugging and pulling on my one shoulder as I help my husband to stand. He currently only uses one hand on the handle because he doesn't trust to hold by both hands yet, but it still works for me. I have even bought one for my parents.

The handle is very solid and stable, and not too heavy to carry around all day. This handle is a big help in assisting people with mobility issues, and it's lightweight and sturdy. My back is grateful that this exists.

I spend a bit of time helping elderly folks get around, and I'm probably the worst person to be doing it because I'm dealing with my own injuries. This handle helps in ways I hadn't even considered before trying it out! I can assist without much effort, and that means that the person I'm helping can take a lot of the feeling of accomplishment for themselves instead of feeling like I did it for them. It doesn't seem important, but it really is.

Mom is 77 and frail, and she has dementia. She also has arthritis in her knees and has a hard time getting up out of her chair. Mom has dementia, but was still able to follow the directions and let me pull her up with this. The handle is easy to grip and isn't slippery. Now Mom likes to keep it beside her chair and frequently wants to use it, even when she's having a good day. It has given her a sense of security, and it has given me extra confidence in helping her without hurting her.
