Our 87 year old family member struggled to get off the recliner sofa. It was so difficult for him that we were strongly considering getting rid of the recliner sofa and buying one of the recliners that push you up out of the seat. But, after reading the reviews for this, I thought it was worth a try. It has worked just as described. This has made a huge difference for our senior!! He is able now to grasp the handles, push his footrest down with his feet and then get easily to his feet.

My wife recently had a major organ transplant and was very weak afterwards. She needed something to help her get out of her recliner. This stand-assist was very useful to her, and made standing up without help much easier. This device was able to be installed on top of her recliner cushions, since the cushions on her recliner were not removable. Very satisfied with this device.

I bought this for my mother that was having problems getting off of her couch. Her couch has both ends are recliners with the center section stationary so had to use the over the top mounting method. My mother loves it and keeps praising how great they are for her. The way they are mounted, it gives her one handle plus the couch arm rest if she is sitting on the outside sections, or both handles if she sits in the center section.

I purchase this for my mother after she had a stroke, it was very difficult for her to get out of a sofa. This work perfect and also help her to build strength in her arms as she pulls herself up. It took us around 20 minutes to put it together and adjust it to her liking in her favorite recliner. Now all of her elder friends wants one!

Been eyeing this for over a year and finally bought it. Without this stander my husband would have been unable to get out of his recliner. It is great that it is portable and can move from room to room. When he returns from rehabilitation he will continue to use it for his continues rehabilitation and independence. I would recommend it to all who have a problem getting up from a sitting position.

We bought one of these to see if it would help our 96 year old mother get up and down from a sitting position. She suffers from back spasms all the sudden and was unable to get up at times. I was afraid she was going to have to go to a nursing home because I can't get her up. This assist worked so well that we got another one for her other chair. They are completely mobile and we were moving it from chair to chair, but having two of them makes life easier. I am so grateful to have found this.

I’m in a restrictive brace after a hip injury and find it almost impossible to get up off my couch. I “invented” this in my mind, then went online looking for something like it. Perfect. Sturdy, easy to assemble and adjust, and does what it promises. Wish I had this when I rehabbed my hip replacements. Everyone who sees it wants one.

I am 76 years old and do have a bit of experience putting things together but this was really easy. The directions were self-explanatory and it was obvious how to adjust the chair assist rail to my specifications. It took me about an hour to get it all to my satisfaction but the adjustment part took longer.

The product is a simple design, well made, excellent value for the money and very practical. I am awaiting two hip replacements and have some difficulty standing up from a couch or low chair. From my personal experience, I've placed a piece of 6" thick high density foam on the seat cushion to enable me to sit higher than normal. I'm very satisfied with the product and happy with the purchase.

This is a great little piece of steel. If you have a disability, injury, or just need a little help getting up sometimes, this device is relatively unobtrusive, and really does the job. My father is an MIT engineering alumnus, and found the product design to be terrific. You can adjust all three dimensions: height, width, and depth. I bought one, then after seeing how good it was, got another. Highly recommended.
